About Us

We are a small apiary, dedicated to the practice of natural beekeeping, located in the beautiful community of Svensen,  just outside of Astoria, Oregon. Along with keeping honeybees, our family of four is happily working to build soil health and happy ecosystems on our supportive homestead.

Along with harvesting pure,  raw honey,  we specialize in creating all natural herbal and propolis infused skincare products, handmade honey caramels, and beeswax candles using beneficial products from the hives and the farm. We use natural, whole ingredients in all of our products. For ingredients not produced on our family farm, we always try to lean on the beautiful bounty and expertise of our fellow farmers, beekeepers and producers, and prioritize organically grown and non-GMO ingredients. 

We believe that the bees know best, and try to honor nature's beautiful reciprocal balance. We strive to be part of a deeper relationship with the bees and all of the living things in our care. The hive’s health and well-being is paramount, and we are dedicated to keeping our practices as gentle, natural, and least invasive to the bees’ natural processes as possible.  We keep a combination of horizontal Layens and traditional Langstroth hives, and with both, we aim for as little disruption to the bees' systems as possible. We harvest only surplus honey, and always leave plenty of winter stores. The bees are not fed sugar or pollen substitutes, and no chemicals are used in the hives or on the land. We plant diverse forage to support not only the honey bees, but all the amazing creatures in our area. 

We gently and responsibly harvest pure raw honey, beeswax and propolis from our chemical free hives.  We truly believe in the restorative power of these products, all of which have been used throughout history, both as a food source, as well as for their healing properties.  They are high in antibacterial, antifungal, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties, and their reputation for wound healing, infection fighting, and other therapeutic qualities has been confirmed through many modern studies.
